Livingston winner cleans up in Fishers’ Thistle Awards competition

This year’s Scottish Thistle Awards competition winner took delivery of his prize from Fishers, Scotland’s market-leading commercial laundry and textile rental provider.

Fishers, Scotland’s largest commercial laundry company and the headline sponsor at the awards, provided each guest with a ‘Thistle the Scottie Dog’ and asked them to take selfies with it to win a £300 voucher for the Principal Hotel in George Street, Edinburgh.

After sifting through a bucket load of entries on the night, Tom Thomson, of Tom’s Whisky Reviews, was the chosen winner for weaving the Scottie Dog into his beard!

Tom, from Livingston, visited his local Fishers facility in Livingston’s Kirkton Campus and was met by Joe White, Fishers’ Divisional General Manager, and John McKay, Distribution Driver, who delivered the prize in a Fishers truck.

Commenting on his win, Tom said: “I had a great time at this year’s Scottish Thistle Awards and I am over the moon to be named winner of the Fishers competition.

“It came as a bit of a shock to win the prize as there were so many fantastic entries. I am really grateful to Fishers for offering such an amazing prize and can’t wait to use my voucher at the Principal Hotel.”

Joe White, Fishers’ Divisional General Manager, said: “As proud headline sponsor of the Scottish Thistle Awards we were ecstatic that our competition went down so well with guests at the event.

“Tom was a deserved winner and his selfie with Thistle the Scottie Dog was incredibly creative. We would like to thank all the guests who took part and also the Principal Hotel for offering such a wonderful prize.”
