Local MP given tour of Fishers' new Head Office
Fishers Laundry, Scotland’s market-leading commercial laundry and textile rental provider, today (17 August 2018) welcomed Stephen Gethins, MP for North East Fife, to its new Head Office in Cupar.
Mr Gethins was met at Edenfields by Fishers Managing Director Michael Jones and given a tour of the building which now houses 14 administrative staff and management.
Fishers has named its new head office Edenfields – reflecting its location in Cupar Trading Estate on the outskirts of the town through which the River Eden flows.
Michael provided an update on Fishers’ trading and performance and discussed its plans for the future operating as a standalone, wholly owned subsidiary of K-Bro, Canada’s largest provider of laundry and linen services.
Fishers was established in 1900 and now washes, irons and delivers more than two million items a week. The company provides linen and workwear laundering and rental services to the hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.
Fishers employs up to 850 staff at peak season and currently operates from seven sites across Scotland and the North of England.
Michael Jones, Fishers’ Managing Director, said: “We are really grateful that Stephen took the time to come along and visit us in our new head office.
“On his visit today, Stephen was shown around the office which provides modern accommodation for our central services team alongside the conferencing and meeting facilities that are essential to running our business.
“We are really proud to be based in Cupar and are committed to the town. One of the reasons we love it here is that we are right across the road from our largest Scottish laundry which we can see from the front door of Edenfields.”
Stephen Gethins, MP for North East Fife, said: "It is great to see Fishers going from strength the strength over the last year, securing new business across Scotland and the north of England. Fishers is a major employer in North East Fife and it is good to see the creation of the new headquarters at Edenfields which consolidates the company's presence in Cupar."
